Janis Porfilio was elected to the office of Village of Crivitz
Trustee in April 2004. She was re-elected in the 2008 election and her
current term expires in April, 2010.
Janis is originally from Grandview, Texas. She moved to Crivitz in 1970 and
married Crivitz native, Herald Porfilio. Janis & Herald have 3 children and
2 grandchildren. They have been the owners of Porfilio Construction, an
excavation company, for approximately 30 years. Janis worked for Bank North
for 12 years as a loan officer and assistant cashier, and for the Village of
Crivitz for 9 years as Municipal Court Clerk and Deputy Village Clerk. She
is a past member of the Women’s Club and Musicmakers, and is a current
member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Janis also served the community as
a member of the Crivitz School Board for 6 years, 2 of them as President.
Her interests include golf, knitting, crocheting, bowling and spending time
with the grandchildren.
Janis’ goals as a Village Board member are to promote tourism and ensure
that the level of services provided by the village are adequate for both
residents and tourists. She wants to see the village tax base grow at a rate
that keeps the price of individual taxpayer bills to a minimum.
Janis serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee, and she is a member of
the Development and Public Safety Committees.
